What is this Mad Buggery

So for everyone who stumbles across this or is curious what I'm doing here or is a good enough friend to read this despite themselves, welcome.

This is my 'gaming blog' to contrast with my 'anime blog' over at http://gottahavebluehair.blogspot.com.

To clarify early on, gaming to me mostly means tabletop gaming, with some small forays into video gaming as far as theoretical stuff, and occasionally references to things done very well in games.  As I do (or don't) begin actually making video games, I may or may not include more in that direction.

Mostly, this will be a place for me to ramble about ideas I'm having, have had or would like to have in the field of game design concepts, as well as criticisms of extant (and undoubtedly more popular than anything I will ever write) gaming systems.  For the most part, I will try to stay away from anecdotes about my particular gaming experiences unless they are particularly relevant to a point I'd like to make.

This is the part where I explain why any of you should care a whit about anything I have to say about gaming. I've been a DM for almost 20 years and have numerous campaigns run under my belt, and even the distinction of being able to say that I ran a game which had a coherent story that started and ended more or less as planned, something I've never actually seen a game do otherwise (they universally die or spiral out of control).

I've also been a rules hacker for over a decade and have been working on developing my own rules systems for the past five years, a couple of which I think are actually getting close to worth publishing.

So, thanks for coming on over and having a look at my place where I rant on the internet.  Good to have you.
